The Otoplasty Procedure

A degree of bruising and swelling will be present for a time but will fade. To aid in this process, you will need to keep your head elevated at all times and must apply a cold compress as directed.
The doctor will prescribe antibiotics and pain medication. It’s recommended that you don’t drive while taking any prescribed narcotics.
Do not participate in any physical activities that could result in ear trauma. Stay home from work or school until cleared to return.
It will be important to avoid using blowdryers during recovery and to stay away from extreme heat. Button-up shirts are recommended in order to prevent accidental damage to the ears while taking one’s shirt off.
