About Our Breast Augmentation Procedure
A breast augmentation, also known as an augmentation mammoplasty, is a breast surgical procedure to increase a patient’s breast size. Alterations would typically be made to improve the texture and shape of your breasts as well.
Aside from standard breast augmentation, we also offer natural teardrop-style implants and a firmer, perkier style. The type of implant used will also vary based on the specific needs and goals of each patient, but will typically involve silicone or saline (salt water) materials. Factors That Should Be Present When Considering a Breast Augmentation:
As with any cosmetic surgery, each breast augmentation procedure is tailored to the specific needs of the patient. The incision points, where the implant is placed relative to the pectoral muscle and surrounding tissue, the restorative care needed, skin elasticity, and the amount of breast tissue remaining all play a major role when planning the breast augmentation surgery. Additionally, the size and position of the areolas can be a factor as well as the type of implant to be used. It is important to review every option with your physician before moving forward with your procedure.

What is Recovery Like from a Breast Augmentation?
While every breast augmentation is different, you will likely have bandages placed over your incisions and may have drainage tubes to allow for the removal of any excess fluids. These will both be removed at your follow-up appointment. Additionally, you will probably be asked to wear a surgical bra (similar to a sports bra) that is designed to help your breasts conform to their new dimensions.
Some swelling or soreness can occur at this time; you may use an ice pack as needed to reduce discomfort. Most patients are advised to wait at least a week before deciding to return to work, although we may recommend more downtime if your job is more physically demanding.
